TCI continues to expand the board, adding area thought leaders

[Boston, MA] The Commonwealth Institute (TCI), the dynamic organization that champions and propels women leaders to achieve professional and personal success and deliver positive impact within their businesses and community, announced today the appointment of three new board members to the Board of Directors: Dawn Frazier-Bohnert, EVP & Global Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Officer at Liberty Mutual Insurance; Evelyn Barahona, Director, Latino Equity Fund, The Boston Foundation; and Jody Robie, Shareholder/Director and Senior Vice President North America at Talent Works.

Dawn Frazier-Bohnert joined Liberty Mutual Insurance in the spring of 2013 to shape the new office of Diversity and Inclusion. As Executive Vice President, Global Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Officer, Dawn is responsible for leading the design, development and implementation of Liberty Mutual’s diversity and inclusion strategy and programs. This includes enhancing employees’ D&I capability and skills, internal and external communications, metrics and measurements, benchmarking, external partnerships and the development of employee resource groups. Prior to joining Liberty Mutual Insurance, Dawn was Chief Administrative Officer and Partner at Global Novations, a Korn/Ferry International Company, where she developed their human capital strategy and led their post-merger company culture-shaping efforts. Before employment with Global Novations, she was at The Gillette Company as Vice President, Global Diversity and Inclusion, where she developed and led their Global Diversity Strategic Plan. Dawn has also held HR leadership positions at Lotus/IBM, Fidelity Investments and Millennium Pharmaceuticals.

Evelyn Barahona is the first director of the Latino Equity Fund, the only philanthropic fund centered on the Latino community in the Commonwealth created in 2013 in partnership with the Boston Foundation and Hispanics in Philanthropy. In this role, she is tasked with increasing its philanthropic capacity to include civic leadership, advocacy, and centering its support to address key issues in equity and access in economic prosperity and health for the Latino Community through its platform of grant making, strategic partnerships, research, convening, and advocacy. Previously, Evelyn worked in the Philanthropy Group at The Boston Foundation as an Officer in providing strategic guidance to Donor Advised Fund holders interested in using their philanthropic dollars to address key community issues. She was instrumental in bringing racial equity discussions to donors and providing space to use philanthropy as a vehicle to strengthen equity in the nonprofit sector. Evelyn also served as a consultant for the Massachusetts United Puerto Rico Fund, and worked with an Advisory Committee in disbursing over $4 million dollars on the island on key recovery projects and providing philanthropic support in Massachusetts for the nonprofit sector handling an influx of relocated Puerto Ricans into the Commonwealth after Hurricane Maria and the following months and year.

Jody Robie has worked for more than 20 years designing and developing world class talent attraction strategies for companies worldwide.  Jody started her career in the broadcast industry as a Reporter, Producer, Account Executive and Sales Manager for multiple TV Stations in Boston including WCVB-TV Channel 5 and FOX 25.  Currently, Jody is a shareholder and manages North America for Talent Works Int’l (TWI) a global Talent Attraction firm headquartered in the UK. She has been at TW for almost 8 years helping clients leverage Talent Work’s team of global outsourced recruiters, brand and insight specialists, and digital and creative marketers. 

Prior to joining TWI, Jody worked as the US Head of Employer Branding for Alexander Mann Solutions and a Vice President of Business Development and Strategy for Buyer Advertising in Boston. A frequent speaker at HR industry events, Jody has presented on topics ranging from Scaling up strategies in Talent Attraction, Developing an Employer Brand, Diversity Marketing, Social and Digital strategies and Global Recruiting.   She is a long time Bostonian who attended Harvard University’s Extension School and Boston University’s College of Communication. She is an active member of The Commonwealth Institute and various HR associations.   She lives in Natick, MA with her husband Michael and her two teenage daughters Jordan and Addison.
