The Commonwealth Institute (TCI), a 24-year-old nonprofit organization devoted to developing and advancing businesswomen in leadership positions, has appointed Jacqueline “Jacqui” B. Kiviat, CAE, as Executive Director for the Florida chapter.

“Jacqui’s wealth of corporate, association and nonprofit experience will allow us to build on TCI’s long track record of helping women succeed while propelling their organizations and careers, and help us expand our Florida footprint to make an even greater impact for all women leaders” said Elizabeth Hailer, Chief Executive Officer, The Commonwealth Institute.

TCI offers comprehensive women’s leadership development programming, events, forums and research supported by its members, sponsors and corporate partners.  “I have personally experienced the power of TCI programming, including being honored in 2013 as one of the Top Ten Not-for-Profit Women-Led Businesses in Florida, and look forward to bringing more career-altering, business-transforming opportunities to Florida women and the organizations they support,” said Kiviat.

She previously served as executive director of the Dade County Bar Association, the largest voluntary bar association in the state of Florida, and executive director and chief operating officer at TerraLex, a worldwide network of independent law firms. Kiviat also consulted with business and member-driven organizations and helped leaders develop messaging to achieve their business goals. Kiviat began her career in management roles at AT&T in New York City and South Florida, focused on public relations, community relations, corporate philanthropy and government affairs.

Her community involvement has included serving as a board member of the Broward Public Library Foundation, vice president of the American Businesswomen’s Association, Southeast Chapter, and program committee member of the Florida Society of Association Executives. After volunteering as a NAWBO advisory council member, she was awarded with an honorary lifetime membership.
