POSITION:  MARKETING & BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

ORGANIZATION

The Women’s Edge (TWE) is a non-profit organization devoted to advancing businesswomen in leadership positions — in short, we help women in business achieve greater success.

Our membership includes CEOs, corporate executives, entrepreneurs, directors of nonprofits, independent professionals, and the rising generation of leaders who are committed to building successful businesses, organizations, and careers. We provide a variety of opportunities to help women succeed on a professional and personal level while propelling their organizations forward.

POSITION OVERVIEW AND SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES

The Women’s Edge has a unique staff opening for an enthusiastic and experienced Marketing & Business Development Manager to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing marketing programs & strategies to increase organizational visibility, foster community relationships & engagement, and build robust business partnerships. While the position is Boston-based, the team works virtually, but meets regularly throughout the Boston area. This role requires a proactive individual with strong networking abilities, excellent communication skills, impactful marketing experience, and a deep understanding of community and business development principles.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

I. Marketing & Communications

      • Develop content and publication calendar for marketing communications and campaigns to engage current and future target audiences.
      • Manages social media calendar across all programs and platforms; creates original content, including graphic design; monitor social media for engagement and amplification of messages.
      • Create marketing materials and presentations to support outreach and business development efforts.
      • Monitor newsfeeds for updates on members, BOD members, and member organizations; repurpose in proactive communications and outreach.
      • Manage and update TWE website to raise awareness, engagement, and conversion.
      • Manage and report on marketing analytics; proactively monitor analytics to enhance digital performance and drive growth.

II. Business Development

    • Identify new business opportunities and partnerships.
    • Develop and maintain relationships with corporate partners and sponsors.
    • Create and implement strategies to attract and retain business support.

III. Membership & Communications

    • First point of contact for all potential and current members.
    • Drive growth and expansion of TWE community and members.
    • Management of online TWE community.
    • Create and coordinate member retention campaigns and outreach.
    • Manage membership records and the member billing process.

IV. Administration

    • Attend BOD and committee meetings and take minutes as necessary.
    • Manage and monitor program budgets and accounts receivable.
    • Prepare, distribute, and track communications on behalf of leadership.
    • Prepare program budgets and monthly financial reports in conjunction with the CEO and Director of Marketing/Programs.
    • Create quarterly reporting on marketing programs, email, website and social media metrics.

V. Programs & Events

    • Manages event-related graphic design, including signage and PPT decks.
    • Manage events onsite, including setup, registration and attendee management.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Excellent organizational, communication and analytical skills.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant marketing and business development experience.
  • BA/BS in Marketing or equivalent work experience, a plus.
  • Creative, collaborative, high-energy, innovative, proactive, and resourceful.
  • Must be a team player/contributor and work independently and remotely.
  • Must be proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Constant Contact; knowledge and experience in digital demand generation is preferred.
  • Design experience is a plus (Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Canva).
  • Demonstrated experience with social media platforms and marketing tools.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Event planning experience a plus.
