The Women’s Edge, in partnership with the Boston Globe Magazine, is proud to announce that Deesha Dyer – philanthropist, strategist, author, and former White House Social Secretary – will deliver the keynote address at the 2025 Top 100 Women-Led Businesses Awards Breakfast on Friday, October 24, 2025, at the Boston Marriott Copley Place.
This year marks the 25th anniversary of the Top 100 Women-Led Businesses in Massachusetts, a celebration of the women leaders who are driving innovation, growth, and impact across the Commonwealth.
About Deesha Dyer
Deesha Dyer’s journey is as inspiring as it is unconventional. At 31, she began as a community college student and White House intern for President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama. Within just a few years, she rose through the ranks to become the White House Social Secretary, one of the most prestigious roles in government operations, overseeing events that welcomed world leaders, activists, and artists to the People’s House.
Today, Deesha is the founder and president of Hook & Fasten, a social impact consulting agency that forges powerful partnerships between corporations and communities. She is also the author of Undiplomatic (2024), her critically acclaimed debut book praised by Oprah’s Book Club, Michelle Obama, and Taraji P. Henson. Known for her authentic and dynamic speaking style, Deesha has been recognized as one of Marie Claire’s “New Guard of Women Changing the World” and The Root’s “Most Influential African-Americans.”
