Annual award highlights women business leaders who are making a significant impact on the state’s economy.
The Women’s Edge, with its partner The Boston Globe, announced the 26th annual Top 100 Women-Led Businesses in Massachusetts. The honorees were recognized during a celebratory breakfast event on October 30th at the Boston Marriott Copley Place. The 100 organizations honored generated over $164 billion in total revenue and operating budgets in 2025, an increase of almost 17 percent over last year. This shows that women leaders continue to be key drivers of the state’s economy.
“For 26 years, the Top 100 has shown what is possible when women lead,” said Elizabeth L. Hailer, Chief Executive Officer of The Women’s Edge. “This year’s honorees represent more than $164 billion in revenue and employ more than 161,000 people across Massachusetts. Behind those numbers are leaders who are building stronger organizations, creating opportunity, and investing in their communities every day.”
Special guests included Lieutenant Governor Kim Driscoll, Boston Mayor Michelle Wu, and State Auditor Diana DiZoglio. The program featured a keynote, “From Revolution to Reinvention: Women Leading the Next 250 Years,” with featured speaker Colette A.M. Phillips, President & CEO of Colette Phillips Communication, Inc., and featured interviewer Janet Wu, former Bloomberg and 7News anchor.
This is the 26th year that The Women’s Edge, a Boston-based nonprofit organization devoted to advancing women in leadership positions, has created the list. It does this through a nomination process and reviews both for-profit and not-for-profit organizations. This is also the 14th year that the list has been created in collaboration with The Boston Globe. In addition to revenue or operating budget, the evaluation considered the number of full-time employees in Massachusetts, workplace and management diversity, board makeup, and innovative projects. The full list was published in the Globe Magazine’s Women & Power issue online on October 30th and in print on November 1st.
